Plastic Tubs
Welcome to
our plastic tubs page! The variety of
these products is at times overwhelming and it is very
interesting to hear of the different types of uses that people
have found for them. They range from simple house
storage, food storage to worm of
bait holders or
habitats. Many fisherman use these filled with
soil to grow worms which they then take with and use as bait.
Although each tub that I will be mentioning here is made out of
plastic, realize that not all are made the
same.
As the economy is down in the dumps these days, it is very
important that I am able to help you find the best deal
possible. No one is looking to spend much money these days but
everyone would like to find something that specifically fits
their needs.
Big, Large & Round
Plastic Tubs
For the larger storage systems these types work the best.
Most come in round shapes and can stack
one on top of the other. Whether you opt for one that is clear
on one that is in color is really up to you, but I would think
about what I was going to place in them first. Some items such
as media, vinyl collections, books, comics or cards do better
if they are away from sunlight and moisture. These should be
placed in tightly sealed, dark containers but other items such
as toys or tools can lay out in the open without a care in the
world.
The more you think this over ahead of time, the easier of a
job it will be to buy and fill them without later having to
reconfigure the storage system. Also when used for bait, most
of the smaller type of animals enjoy a dark and moist
environment so you should adjust the type that you buy
accordingly.
Food Grade Plastic Tubs with
Lids
The food grade tubs are often microwave friendly and can
sustain cold and hot temperatures. These can be both small to
place in your cupboard and store leftovers or really large for
commercial walk-in refrigerators so that the restaurant owner
can store their food. I recommend the see-through kind so that
it easy to see what kind of a food is stored within them.
Always use an extra label which states the date of when it was
placed in refrigeration as well as the expiration date.
Rubbermaid Plastic
Tubs
The company rubbermaid has made a name
for itself as it comes to plastic
tubs and should always be considered. It doesn't
mean that they are the best, and also understand that this type
of a brand brings a larger cost along with it.
Plastic Tubs with Rope Handles
The larger tubs might need to be moved at one time or
another and so plastic or rope
handles are great to have. I think that the rope
handle works quite well as it is easier to grab than plastic
and this is quite important as the larger tubs can become
extremely heavy. Always have a friend or co-worker help you if
it is too much as straining can cause a back injury which
doesn't usually heal very well. It isn't worth going to the
hospital for trying to show off. The
handle should be long enough to esily
grab but not too long as you don't want to give the tub too
much room to maneuver and swing around as your are trying to
relocate it.
