Shoe Storage Solutions
Welcome to
our shoe
storage solutions page! There are many types
of organizational
systems used
for storing shoes, and they differ
by color, style, design and most
importantly space. When you are living in a city as opposed to
a smaller town, you might want to find shoe storage solutions
for small spaces as these may better utilize the amount of
space that you are working with. Living in New York City as
well as the suburbs I can really understand that different
people will have radically different
needs.
Some of the more
posh styles and
brands will
cost you more, but can be a conversation starter as people will
become intrigued by them when noticing them as they are walking
into the house. Hopefully, this will not be the only nicer
piece of furniture that you have but is a good place to start.
Although the economy is doing very well. with the right
research anyone can find something awesome that works for them
and is also proud to install into their
residence.
Closet Shoe Storage
Solutions
The are different
types of designs available that can be installed
within a closet. This
is definitely a place where you can save some money,
as most people are already looking for deals in this
economy. Since almost nobody will be looking into your
closet, the shoe collection should be kept safe but
doesn't have to be in the most
expensive model. There are many designs ranging from
ones that are hanged off a wall and others that sit
on the ground or are in a cabinet of some
sort.
Whether you pick
one manufactured out of wood, plastic, metal or fabric,
it is totally up to you but keep in mind that the
different types of materials will vary
in durability. Some plastic
models can be found in virtually any
department store and do the job quite well. Tally up the
number of shoes that you have so that you do not run out
of space.
Shoe Storage
Solutions Hallway
There are some
great modern
designs which can be found to install in
the hallway. Many of the best known brands make their
best items for this place as it is the one seen when
first entering the house. It is recommended to get a
sturdier model and one that looks great. I have seen some
cheap but nice looking furniture at IKEA and it might work for
those on a tighter budget.
Also included into
this section would be the systems that fit under the
stairs. They are a great way to utilize that space but if
you are going to place your shoes in the basement or
attic, make sure to get a system which holds out moisture
and bugs as these are two factors that can greatly cut
into the lifespan of your
footwear.
Hanging Shoe
Storage Solutions
The
hanging shoe storage is mostly an addition to an already
present organizational
system. If you
have some sort of a cabinet, dresser or
table already on the floor... this could
allow for you to get creative and theme something along with it
and also get your shoes out
of boxes
and
closets. The
wonderful part of having such a solution put in place is that
now you can easily scan
your shoe
collection and reach them at regular
standing level without having to bend down which may hurt
your back.
Underbed Shoe
Storage Solutions
If you aren't
really happy with a
simple plastic
container,
there are already made under-bed shoe storage solutions
as well. They are either larger type boxes with different
compartments for each of the shoes or an actual piece of
furniture that can lay underneath the matters and
rotates. Some can hold a really good amount of shoes,
have doors on them and can get a bit pricey as they look
great and replace the entire frame of the
bed.
Shoe
Storage Solutions Wardrobes, Boxes and
Stack
Let's start
by going over a couple of the different types and designs of
the storage. It is very important to have your furniture match
the decor of the room which it will be installed in and serve
the purpose of the area that it is installed
in.
Wardrobes
- Large pieces of
furniture that also hold your other clothing such as
shirts, ties,
towels, pants,
skirts etc. Make sure that you have
enough room for this one and a way to bring it in as well
as some help for the assembly part.
Boxes
- Great to place
under the bed or within the closet. Unless you are like
my friend, and will have pictures on them... it might be
a bit hard to see what shoes are inside. When going for
this option, I definitely recommend see through,
stackable boxes with a
sliding drawer so that you do not have
to move them when trying to get the shoes out in the box
closer to the floor.
Stack
- I have seen many
different types, but the most common is the material
stack which can hang in the back of the closet. The great
thing about this one is that it is very affordable and
still lets you put things underneath on the floor
(more room for shoes).
Shoe Storage Solutions in
Contemporary, Wood (Wooden) for Women, Men &
Children
Based on
experience, I have found that some people really like
either contemporary or wooden designs. This part is based purely on the taste of
the buyer, but remember as you consider models for men and
children that many of the wooden models are more sturdy and
durable. Kids especially like to play and climb on furniture
and so to avoid injury a heavier design is
necessary.
Shoe Storage Solutions Hanging For
Closets
When it
comes to closets, you can really mix and match different
options that are available. A couple of hanging pieces, along
stackable boxes and a rug underneath for your most popular
shoes. If you organize even a smaller space efficiently, you
can easily fit over a 100 shoes, with all of them being easily
visible and ready for wearing.
Entryway, Garage,
Hallway
When
purchasing shoe storage, do think about the area that it will
be located in. Some tend to get dirtier than others as well as
have more traffic going through them. For the entry way I
recommend a simple rack or a wooden
bench which holds the shoes and has no door on it.
This way, the people can quickly grab the shoes and maybe even
sit on it as they put them on. If you are placing your shoes in
the garage,
that probably means that you are not wearing them very often
and larger bins with
compartments might work best.
Some of
the designs work well under a
futon in addition to
couches. It really depends on the type
of furniture that you own and where you are
interested in storing your
things.
When making a
purchase of the internet look closely at the
measurements
and their return / exchange
policy as you will not be able to touch the product until
it makes its way to your residence. Sometimes these small
details can save you a lot of headaches later on... but
the internet is definitely a place where you will be able
to find the best deals most of the time. Reason being is
that the stores which are online tend to have less
overhead since they do not have employ as many workers or
pay rent on an additional showroom.
